Abandoned Shit Weekly Contest - №.11 - 'Water !!
This abandon ship lays on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand at the Koh Samui pier in Thailand i believe what i was told by some locals that this ship was one of the first of two ships called the Rava 1 an Rava 11 and this one is Rava 11.
The island of Koh Samui was in the early 80's and 90's just a quite beautiful paradise island with beautiful beaches but no power or water on the island so few people were visiting the island except for few backpackers and Rava 11 use to bring them across from the mainland of Surat Thani a two to three journey across the Gulf of Thailand depending on the weather conditions.
*The island of Koh Samui starting gaining more attraction because of it lush green tropical landscape and beautiful beaches so a few low cost resorts started to appear and from there it just took of meaning bigger ships were needed to bring building materials , cars , trucks and more people so the poor old Rava 11 had seen it's days and had no more use just became to small a ship when out of business and left as a memory of the first fleet to cross from the mainland to Koh Samui Island.
Today Koh Samui Island is a world know tourist island all over the world with it's high end resorts and hotels with a airport and huge ferry's that cross the Gulf of Thailand all day leaving the pier every hour loaded with passengers , vehicles , trucks and all the goods that the island needs.
So RIP Rava 11 you have done your good deeds.
