The theme this week is for the ASW contest hosted by @customnature is black and white. I don’t do a lot of black and white photography so this was not easy one for me. Backlighting and long shadows are two things that I know work well in black and white. This shot provided both of those elements so I went with it. I did not want to just pick one of my favorite shots and turn it black and white, I wanted to find something that really suited a black and white shot. I am really happy with this result and I prefer it to my original color version of the shot. This was a good exercise for me because I rarely stop and think about what my shots would look like in black and white.
