Abandoned Shit, Weekly Contest organized by @customnature
Hello there
I have another brand new and awesome contest organized by @customnature, this is the first week.
If you want to participate, here are the details:
Here is my entry for this week:
Cantacuzino Palace/ Petit Trianon Palace , Florești, Romania
The construction of Cantacuzino Palace started in 1911, at the order of Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino, one of the richest Romanian of that time.
The building was almost finished in 1913 but Grigore Cantucuzino died unexpectedly. His son, who inherited the palace, did notvwant the project to continue, so he simply locked the palace and did not complete the final works. From then until now, you can see the result of the degradation ( Two wars, at least two massive earthquakes, massive theft).
There are some rumours that this palace will be rebuilt, I really hope this because the location is beautiful and it has lot of potential, Florești is located only 80 km away from Bucharest!
Every October on this domain takes place a really nice event for the lovers of horses, Karpatia Horse Show - The Balkan Championship of Horse Riding. If you visit Romania in early October, make sure to attend the championship, you won't regret it!

@alexandraioana26 - It's really a great shame this building was never completed. It has architectural features which are nearly impossible to recreate with the skill-sets that exists today.
One wonders if they should complete it, would it be done justice?
I think so!
I will follow the building and project (if it does happen) with great curiosity. I do a bit of architecture but mostly a construction professional. I have seen a decline in skills over the years and some can not be found in an economical viable manner, such as stone masons which would have been used on the original project. I think a lot of the project will be done with modern materials and skills. Most of the "original" building materials will be hugely expensive, not available or on some endangered list.
