Several animals and plant species do live in water, for example water animals- such as fish, frogs, crayfish, water snails, etc or part of their lives spent in water as the case of toads in the tadpole stage, mosquito larvae etc. There are a large number of other water animals which are found in streams and rivers.
Some plants live in water and help in the provision of food, shelter to these animals. Those with leaves under the water usually live only where it is fairly deep and clean , for they need light and dirty water would be fairly dark for them.
However, both the water animals and plants alike are been seriously threatened by the plastics and other waste generated and dumped into these water sources which further, contribute in contaminating the Oxygen present in these waters. This deprives them of the opportunity to survive thus reducing their numbers as well as that of plants that depends on them for carbon dioxide, thus we should stop polluting these water sources for these aquatic life to survive.
Thanks for initiating to take action now.
