Chillin' Chinchillas. Pen drawing
Hello everyone. I just finished this commission for a client. She had seen some of my 'demented' animals and wanted the same treatment towards her chinchillas. This was very fun to do.
8x10". Pen on paper.
From the photos I received I picked one with both of them sitting by each other in a cage. I decided to throw out the fact that they were in a cage. She agreed, and told me to do whatever with the extra space.
In progress. At this point I showed her what I had done, she was happy. I explained to her that I wanted to do a light pattern in the background (behind them). And for the bottom portion I told her I would like to do a flower that grows in the wild in Chile. The flower is called "Ananuca". And since the Chinchilla is found to be in Chile, I thought this would go well.

So the client is happy, and I'm happy. 1st time drawing chinchillas.

Gorgeous commission piece, Anthony <3 Love the two chinchillas and I like the composition very much too, with that Ananuca flower suddenly blossoming at the bottom against the dark.... It just works!
Really liking the way you shade the chinchillas :) They are SUPER adorable omg~
