Artstorm Contest #18 Day 4 - Pets
PSYCHEDELIC CAT
I had great fun today, folding my pet out of paper. Here is how I did it:
Step 1
I am a colouring in fanatic. I never know what I should do with my old "artworks". Today I found a use. I took a mandala that I coloured in awhile ago and folded it in half, then drew the outline of the cat.
My pets were (un)willing participants in the project. Here is our German Shorthaired Pointer, Giblet:
Step 2
Then I cut her out:
Our Italian Greyhound, Yoda, playing background:
Step 3
Then I folded her in strategic places and cut out her snout through both sides of the paper:
Our Siamese, Soekie, a little bit confused about the creature in her space:
Step 4
The final touch: adding a moustache with thin white paper and, using a white milk pen, highlighting her eyes.
And Dobby, our other Italian Grey, allowing Minnalouse (of course) to cuddle with him.
Et voila!
I found my inspiration in a book by Dette Kim, called "Papierkuns" (paper art).

The end product is too cute! My hubby did some things like this in the past on steemit, if you tag it #steemiteducation, just maybe they will resteem it and you will earn even more.

I used to be a mandala colourig books addict, so I have tons of them everywhere in my room, but I've never considered the idea of turning them into something else!
It would be nice to cut them into animals and hang them around. And maybe with a drop of vinyl glue they would last more.

Yes, yes, yes! I am also doing some other things. I cut them out and glue them to A3 black carton. I write something bohemian with it, like (and excuse the cliche: "Do you dance, Minnaloushe, do you dance?". Then I paste them to my ceilings. Also, I just cut out whatever I coloured in, and paste it on the back of doors. Once the door is filled up, I add a layer of "modge podge" (I do not know whether that is an international term) - basically sealing it.
Ahahah! No it's definitely not an international term, but I googled it and so so far as I understood it's similar to vinyl, right?
