This is my entry for Art Prompt Writing Contest #7 by @gmuxx

I ran across the highway, and then the field, through the woods as fast as I could Yet to no avail, they were too fast for me. 

Suddenly I was surrounded by these whimsical looking people.

 And right before they beamed me up They said in a symphony of song,  Welcome to Reality.

 It happened in the tiniest moment of time, methinks in maybe just a blink we were on a rocket ship soaring though the sky and outer space.  Well, now we can call it a spaceship. 

I stood in a large room with metallic neon walls, with computers and desk and shelves that held gadgets, and moveable little shiny things.   

A door in the wall, that wasn’t there before opened, and in walked a young lady as dainty as can be.

 “I’m Stacy,” she said, and welcome to your reality. And even though you’ve been chosen for having mad skills, said Stacy with a giggle. 

“Before you can advance in the game you must be initiated, interrogated, totally discombobulated, adjudicated and exonerated from all the dirty little deeds you did in the past.

 For sure, to continue the game you must be pure,” said Stacy 

“Do all of you always rhyme when you speak” James asked “Most of the time,” said Stacy politely and with a smile   

“Absolutely, we did you a favor  because you were about to be antiquated, and excommunicated by your rival Jason 5.0,” whispered Stacy, and then she looked up and around the room, before returning her gaze to James with a giggle.   

“Now what next must we do?” Stacy whispered again. 

“Oh yes, therefore you must journey through the doors, and for you, there will be 2. You choose which to travel through in what order. 

"So let's get started. Which door first Mr. James.shall it be?" 

"I choose door number 2.  Let’s get on with whatever this is." Said James. 

And the last thing he heard Stacy say was “Woo woo, let’s do, I mean get on with it, that is. Yes."   

Door #2 Separation from Illusion and Dual View Possibilities. 

As James entered the door and took the first step, he found no ground so down, down, down went, James. 

The free fall lasted long enough for James to realize that he did not have to struggle because he could fly, and then soar, and propel his body in any direction he wanted to go.  

James chose to land on the ground beneath him. In front of him stood a metal swivel staircase. 

James pondered the matter, should I go up or stay down. 

And a deep raspy voice coming from behind him must have read his thoughts, because the voice that belonged to a rather large big man, maybe 8ft. tall appeared slowly out of the shadows and said,  

“It does matter. You must choose Mr. James.” said the man. “And if you are afraid now, so will you be in life, and your life will always be at a standstill. 

One of the reasons you had to come here is because maturity is needed in this area or you will not be able to finish the game. 

The game is your life. Welcome to Your Reality Mr. James I am the gatekeeper for the Reality of Illusion and other things. My name is Senzabar.

“Door #2,  brings you to the crossroads of your life." 

" If you stay down and go to your right there is another door that awaits you. Life will be easy for you, but you will not grow much and you will have money and possessions, but at the mercy of other people." 

"And there are other things that will take you by total surprise. I must not say what that surprise is.  You must live this path to discover that of which I speak.”   

“If you take the stairs you will encounter pain and other things that you may find uncomfortable but you will grow to be a great man." 

"You will also have to decide at some point, to leave the game. A new life awaits you that is nothing like what you expect, yet at the end of your life you will have peace.” Said Senzabar. 

After about 2 minutes Mr. James spoke and said, “Well I always did like a challenge. And I do ultimately want peace. And I don’t want to come back here again.”  

Senzabar said nothing, he just smiled at James and then took a few steps back and motioned his hands towards the steps.  

James climbed and climbed, the air around him grew cold, hot and cold again. Having reached the final step he saw Door #1.    

 Door #1 Karma & The Judge 

"Welcome to Your Reality of karma," said the Judge that sat high up in front of James. 

  How great are your sins?  Who have you judged and when?  How Deep Does The Rabbit Hole Go? 

"Its much of a mystery, what you perceive to be, is not always what it seems." 

 As she opened the book she said,  "Let’s see Hmmm, the gossip, and name-calling, and shall I speak of the lies.  

First you told one-two, then three.  On the 3rd day back in May, you started a rumor that ricocheted throughout the community.

 Many lives were ruined, Mr. James, as you sat in the shadows and no one ever knew that it was you that did the deed, well at least until today, and then she laughed.  When karma has returned to play, by rocking your world and turning your life up…side…down. Welcome and Wake up Mr. James to REALITY.  Karma says its time to pay….up. 

And suddenly he felt excruciating pain, and a portal in one wall of the spaceship opened in a cloudy haze and he could see himself back on Earth. And he saw things in his life being stripped away. His girlfriend, money and his dignity.

 He lost cars, house and family, James was all alone. 

The shouting of the judge closed the portal and he could only see the Judge in front of him. Don’t look that way Mr, James.  

For your transgressions, you had to pay, UP! Shouted the Judge And the phone rang loud and abruptly into a new reality he woke up.
