[CR] Rainy London in watercolor

in #artisteem6 years ago (edited)

Artwork ImageHello, friends!

Do you remember that in October I took a mini course of watercolor urban landscape? I still have one more work I didn't show. It's a rainy evening in London.

I like watercolor technique, but it is still difficult for me to paint with watercolor. It is much easier for me to paint with ink, like my yesterday's mountain landscape.

I start my drawing with a sketch. It is also important to build a perspective and vanishing point at the horizon. I sketch not only buildings, people and other objects, but also their reflections.

Then I wet the sheet and I begin to paint the blue evening sky. I'm also adding warm ochre colors to the Big Ben building.

2.jpg

Then I made a gradient from dark to light yellow colors on the tower of Big Ben. And painted the right objects in the picture-the building and the tree.

3.jpg

Now I painted the left side of the picture. These are the houses that are located along the street. I also painted a man with an umbrella.

4.jpg

The last step I added more saturated colors to my work, and also drew small details.

My painting's ready!

I used Canson Moulin Du Roy Satin and Watercolor paints "White Nights".

It is raining right now in KL
I wonder what you'd paint if you were here :)
I life the reflection of the tower
Very nice :)

Thank you for nice words! In my hometown, it often rains too) About my city they say that it has 50 shades of gray ))

Ah so now we know the movie title isn't original ;)

Awesome and beautiful painting, Veta. It looks like the course has payed off. 😃

Thank you! Yes, I'm glad I found this course, the more it was very cheap) Now mid-November, you went to Moscow?

Yes, why not? I will take the opportunity to watch the presentation of the new album from Лоуна.

I love Трактор Боулинг but since they are no longer active, this is the next best thing.

I like your watercolor piece and the way you have presented it. You did very well.

Thank you! My teacher praised me too, but I still need to train more)

Your painting is amazing, I would like to have the same effect when I use my watercolors but it is not like that, I wish I could do a course like you.

Thank you @yanes94!
I'm just learning watercolors! I found an online course, where there were 4 classes, but I got a very good teacher ) She talked in detail about the perspective and mixing colors.

That of perspective and the mixture of colors interests me a lot ... how much does that course cost you?

I usually look for free webinars, or cheap courses. It was a subscription for a month on the site, which posted different painting lessons. The subscription cost about $ 6. But in General in Russia courses for artists are quite expensive...Usually more than $ 150 per course. Try searching on YouTube for free lessons.

I always look on youtube and sometimes I get good tutorials... I still have to keep searching for youtube because up to $ 6 for me is a lot since I'm from Venezuela. 😭

Oh, sorry! I heard there was an economic crisis in Venezuela, but now I've completely forgotten about it. I don't watch the news. Sometimes you can find good books on the Internet....

Oh okay! I will investigate.
Yes, well some know a little about the crisis, although living here you live how terrible it is.
Seeing news is good and bad.
because on the one hand you are informed because so many things happen in the world.
And if you do not see news you can live free of worries, if you see a lot of news you can go crazy and not all the media say what it is.
In my country none of the media says the reality of what is lived.

That's a pretty good watercolour

I like this one a lot, beautiful and moody. The wetness on the floor is very lovely :).

Oh, @scrawly I suffered so much with that wet floor and the reflections on it...Several times washed :( I even have the reflection of the tower has changed in the process of washing paint.

I'm glad you liked it! ) because I'm not sure if it turned out well.
