[CR] Dragonfly with colored pencils
Hello, friends!
I try to draw in different techniques. In the summer I bought amazing colored pencils from Faber-Castell "Polychromos". I haven't been drawing with pencils since I was busy with watercolors and Chinese-style gunby.. But recently I found an amazing tutorial (in Chinese) about drawing insects with colored pencils. It's a bit like macro photography, only macro drawing :)
I like that there are a lot of pictures in the textbook and it can be understood without knowing Chinese. Also they show how simple geometric shapes to draw insects. I decided to try to draw a dragonfly.
I start sketching with simple geometric shapes.
Next, I draw on the basis of these forms part of the body of the dragonfly.
I took the colored pencils. This is the basic set of colors that I used in the drawing. I started painting my head.
Then I paint the dragonfly's body and legs.
The last stage is to paint the dragonfly wings. At first I made them too bright, but then I erased the excess paint. After all, dragonfly wings are transparent.
At the end I painted a Lotus Bud. My drawing is ready!
