ART EXPLOSION - Glass Flowers

This is a mixed media piece of artwork I created called Glass Flowers.

For this project I used a wood framed canvas, shards of glass, paint and dry flower petals.

This is the first time I tried using shards of glass for any artwork, so I was not sure how it would turn out.  First I painted the canvas then sprinkled the glass pieces on top of the wet paint.

After the paint dried I poured a thin layer of polyurethane on top of the glass and added a few flower petals over the glass.  It turned out ok, very sparkly... it was a fun experiment :)
