So much fun, @erh.germany! I would LOVE that festival with all the acts :) I would have to agree that this is something very important for people to experience....it's a giving and receiving of that human spark. People can be so amazing and talented, full of ideas. I like that all the acts are so unique - that is the most special part. We have festivals here but not like that :) We have themed festivals - where I live there are so many. Usually we take the ferry to Ocracoke Island for the 'Folk Festival' every year - they do have storytellers, artists and a lot of musical acts. But I think a festival like Stamp would be a lot of fun. I can see why you return year after year.
And I agree it is a shame to see so much commercialism :( That's our world now. Maybe it helps the artists though?
Your writing is impeccable as always. You did such an authentic job of transporting the reader there with you. I very much enjoyed it. My hubby was spellbound by the juggling act ;) Amazing!

Does your Folk Festival still lay ahead of you? I would like to see some impressions, too.
The commercialization ... I observed less visitors as the years before as the number of performers decreased. I think the city decided on a smaller budget as the artists must be payed at least for the traveling and hostage. For compensation through taxes the commercialization is probably not enough ... I wonder how the artists survive anyway. It must be a passion for them and they live for their art and the cheering audience.
I showed the videos yesterday at my hubbys birthday party and my brother and the other guests were in awe, too. We had such a nice time in the patio, at thirty degrees, friends & family & kids.
I like to build a bridge over the pond:-)
