Excuse my ignorance on the subject, but in the video the actual image is already "formed" was it pre-existing or was it shaped by yourself with virtual elements?

the Picture in the Background is a Digital Painting ive made with an other Software called Flame Painter.
It took 2-3 Hours to make it finish like the Endresult you see here :-)

I find this kind of drawing that is made from Occulus Rift very interesting, unique, and modern, and the result certainly speaks of the creativity involved in creating it.

That is a very unique ballerina figure and background. Usual ballerina figures I see have these very ideal smooth curves and edges with a plain background to highlight the ballerina herself.
Your ballerina version is a modern one with the complement of robotic aspect and the very colorful background. While the background is really striking, the ballerina is still on spotlight with its unique color that does not blend with others.
