Monkey: is an agile and intelligent animal, in Chinese pronunciation is same with ”侯” which is an ancient Chinese official position. ”侯” is also used for praising the monkey, so Monkey is an symbol that everything will be well in official working.

Peach: a kind of fruit, because of the Chinese ancient mythology, peaches is a kind of symbol for longevity in China.

In Chinese opinion, Monkey is a long-lived animal, if someone can get the peach from Monkey, means he/she can be longevity, it usually shown in the birthday celebration, especially for the elder.

猴子：是一種敏捷聰明的動物，”猴”在中文的發音又與"侯"同音，”侯”是古代一種官位的專稱，也是對猴的稱讚，引申為一種美。所以猴子也有著寓意官運享通的意思。

桃：水果的一種，由於中國古代神話的關係，桃在中國寓意著長壽。

猴子獻桃是由於中國人認為猴子是一種長壽的動物，由猴子來把桃獻給祝福的對象，寓意希望對方能長壽，所以多用於生辰慶祝，特別是長軰。

민첩하고 똑똑한 동물인 원숭이는 중국어에서 제후(侯)라는 단어와 발음이 같다. 侯를 원숭이 찬양하는데 쓰는 경우도 있을 정도이다 보니, 원숭이는 공적인 업무를 잘 하라는 상징을 나타내게 되었다.

복숭아는 고대 중국 신화에서 무병장수를 의미하는 과일이기도 하다.

(중국 사람들의 생각엔) 원숭이가 장수하는 동물이므로 누군가 원숭이가 준 복숭아를 받게 된다는 것은 곧 무병장수를 뜻하다 보니, 특히 어르신들의 생신 잔치에서 자주 볼 수 있게 되었다.
