ALTER EGO - Spoken Artwork
Maybe you have to know the darkness before you can appreciate the light
-Madeline L'Engle
Often we question life, Why are you so hard on me?
We try to live every day that comes, we try to overcome the obstacles that it brings, and we cherish those moments that gave us a taste of pure happiness.
"That's life,"
The most basic and common answer. And that's if they are even kind enough to give you an answer.
But what happened to those who never really got an answer? What happened to those who never understood why life has treated them, in the most unfortunate ways? How do they cope ?
If you ask me, you never really know or you know it and it's too late.
Life is unfair. Yes, that is a fact. But life is unfair to everyone. So does that make life, fair?
ALTER EGO
I'm slowly fading, slowly fading...
The acrimonious drips of my soul,
Nonchalantly eradicates into the blackhole
I'm into the void, I'm slowly fading...
A picture may say a thousand words, but a picture with a few words? You do the math.
As much as I want to leave this piece here as it is, it feels like I owe it to the community, a few in-depth explanation for this piece.
I'm slowly fading, slowly fading...
For everything that she's been through, everything she fought for, she's getting tired, ready to stand down and too tired to fight.
The acrimonious drips of my soul,
The angry and bitter parts of her soul, slowly crawling over her, hovering over her. Almost as if she becomes these drips...
Nonchalantly eradicates into the blackhole
It's as if there's nothing wrong, as if she has not been suffering. As if her insouciance to everything is the truth. And as she portray this role she slowly slips into nothingness...
I'm into the void, I'm slowly fading...
But despite all the reasons to let go, there's still that hint of hesitation. Despite declaring that she's about to let go, there's still that one drop of hope by going in slowly, fading away slowly with the hope of someone pulling her back...
Because I believe in HOPE.
Because hope is the only real thing that's keeping us sane. So be that "someone". That someone who will save that "her".
Because in these times where people are ought to be losing their faith, hope should always be there.
And no matter how tragic the story is in the beginning, it does not determine the ending.

I like the last part yes no matter how things are at the start it doesn't mean it will be a bad ending
Of course, at the end of the day, optimism is the key to a better mind thus, a better life
Your thoughts are deep and has full of sense in it.
Same as you, I believe in hope which keep us all sane in this world full of darkness. I have survive my own piece of darkness and I would like to be a beacon of hope to those in pain, in the hope that they too will find their way out.
I'm glad that although this post has been very vague, you still find the heart of it. It was hard discussing and expressing about something and avoiding negativity all the way. I tried as much as possible to make it less pessimistic.
I am happy to know that we are a lot of people who have survived such tragedies on our lives. We will keep on fighting 😊
