Symmetry is relaxed Beauty
Symmetry is what you see at first glance, easy to understand and to like, relaxing your eyes.

Thats exactly one of the reasons why until recently I avoided to put my artworks or parts of it in this symmetric mirror.
Too easy, no challenge.
But as only fools never change their mind and not wanting to be part of their community, I started to work on symmetry with elements from my past artworks.
I often described fractal designs as beautiful but lacking the touch of the human hand and soul, therefore being cold and having this machine made look.
Using pieces that I've made myself and therefore cannot deny the human hand and soul touch are free from the reproach above. Full of surprise and relaxing to look at. You can produce symmeytry quite easily by turning half of your art into the opposite direction and bring the pieces together in the middle.
...it is interesting to notice, that the further you go in splitting the image, the further it is getting away from the base image and therefore becomes almost unrecognizable in the end.

And when you are finished with this merry go round...and you have chosen a particular piece that you like...you start working on it to make something special again...

I find symmetry to be a great starting point for a piece before I then try and "corrupt" it and throw in some jarring influences. those flaws seem to represent the flaws in all of us or at least the ones in me.
