Portrait_battle #18. Step by step
Hello friends!
Today was the penultimate reference for the portrait battle in the instagram. There is only one left. It will be release on March 20. And at this the contest of portraits will be finished. It's been lasting so long! Since the last year! Many people didn't finish it and surrendered. The last two references are published very sluggishly. Apparently, people are fed up already. It really lasts a very long time. This time draw Nikolai Koster Valdau. He has an interesting appearance. Especially the nose, of course. Unfortunately, it seems to me that I did not succeed. Even the look turned out to be somehow unhappy. Everything was kind of muddy. Unsuccessful drawing, in general. I think we need to change the paper. As my watercolor.

I like how you keep large areas loose or soft and diffused, while reserving your fine detail to the face. I've done paintings where I felt compelled to give all area an equal amount of detail and rendering. I think I prefer the way you do it!
