An up close look at my ram sculpture // Time lapse video inside

in #art6 years ago (edited)

Yesterday, I did a livestream on Dlive of this sculpture. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like the recorded footage is playing back. I’ve turned it into a time lapse for those who may have been curious. I’m not sure why the video didn’t finish processing, maybe because I was using Safari? Next time I’ll us Chrome.

I was pretty excited to share up close images of this Ram sculpture. I tried my hardest to have my camera focus in on the details (while streaming) but it could only pick up the slightest detail. I also attempted to take nice pictures with my iPhone but it didn’t do it justice. I caved, grabbed my camera and took these breathtaking shots.

If you’ve noticed, It has double horns and double eyes. I shared the finished creature with our fellow Magic: The Gathering players. We had a draft yesterday so most of our group was here at @caffetto for a night of fun. You can check out @kommienezuspadt’s dlive video ‘here’ if you’re also a fellow MTG lover.

My friend @nickcdavis expressed interest in a boar head sculpture for his D&D character. I don’t usually take commissions but I’m considering it since it’s something up my alley. I’ll just have to look up some references before I put my own stylistic spin on it.

Another friend told me that it reminded him of Spyro from Spyro the Dragon. (https://g.co/kgs/FjJCWJ) Then we got to chatting about video games made for the GameCube like Pikmin. (https://g.co/kgs/zRV3qb) That game was freaking awesome! Maybe I’ll try saving up for a Nintendo 3DS so I can relive those nostalgic memories!

Thanks for stopping by to view my art!

Would you be interested in seeing my paint these sculptures? 🦊

The ram sculpture turned out great, I love the double-horns!

I know! I can’t wait to paint it!

Once I get a good groove going then I’ll definitely make us tokens for gameplay!

This is beautiful! I really like the double eyes/horns... that's a really fun spin on it. I bet a boar would be really fun to sculpt up too, with the animal theme you've been working with recently.

Your photos are gorgeous, and recognizable. Hubby peeked over my shoulder as I was perusing your post, and he was like "Oh, I bet I know who took those pictures!" haha

Thank you! It’s a fun switch from all the people I’ve been sketching. It’s also much easier for me to translate these creatures onto clay.

Aw! That’s cool! I’ve been trying to keep my images looking pretty consistent. I keep drying flowers to add to the collection.

Love the horn details. Well done.

Thank you! They were little twigs before and I’m glad I beefed them up. :D

I love this! The double horns are really cool and the set of the eyes give him so much expression. He is like a dragon a bit. Well done.

Thanks @donnadavisart! I wanted him to be extra fancy and a little creepy with the double eyes/horns. Maybe I’ll attempt to do a dragon next time!

This little ram is perfect! It has a mischievous look too!

I know! They all kind of end up like that
