My best motivation tips I can give you guys for getting over being unmotivated is actually to try something new and experiment with different art styles or mediums or even learn a new skill altogether. I really believe that the first thing that you can do to help overcome being unmotivated is to figure out why are you are motivated in the first place. I believe that there are three big reasons why you might be feeling unmotivated.

c1.jpg

The first one is you might be feeling unconfident, you don't feel good enough with your art and if you are feeling unconfident you're not really gonna feel motivated to do something that you don't feel confident about. The second one is you don't have any real urge to create there's no real inspiration there. You don't feel excited and it's just not really feeling like a big priority in your life right now. The third reason why you might be motivated is that you're simply not happy with your art, you're not happy with what you're creating. You have no real like identity or style or maybe you just don't know what mediums you want to use and you just might be unmotivated because you have no real direction of what you want your art to go.

c2.jpg

Let's go through some common ways to actually solve those issues that I just spoke about. The first one I said was no confidence and tip 1 is don't compare yourself to other artists. I think this is one of the main reasons people feel unconfident or down on themselves or that they're not good enough is because they go on social media and they compare themselves to other artists that they look up to. You should draw positive inspiration from that and aim to be where they are not put yourself down.

c3.jpg

Just practice and use that as motivation and keep looking at those artists and their artwork that you want to strive towards. Tip two is to remember that everybody goes through this every artist is gonna go through periods where they don't feel particularly confident they don't really feel like they're good enough. I think it's kind of comforting knowing that every artist goes for it and you're not alone but the important thing is to not let it hold you back just go and create art anyway.

c4.jpg

Tip three is really thinking logically about how good it will feel when you start to see your improvement when you practice and then you look back on your art and you see how much you've improved. That's gonna make you feel happy and motivated. One thing that you need to accept is when you're creating there are going to mistakes but mistakes aren't a bad thing. Learn from your mistake. The second reason for being motivated was having no urgency to create no real inspiration and my tip to overcoming this would be set yourself goals that actually really excite you. Set yourself goals that you know really gonna excite you and get you in the mood to create.

The art of drawing never ceases to amaze me. As someone who is unfortunately not skilled in this craft, I marvel at your brilliant skills. What I find especially wonderful is that you post different stages of your image, which helps the reader to get a better understanding of the specific drawing techniques and how the different effects come into play. Simply just wonderful. I'm looking forward to reading more drawing stories from you. Followed!

Thank you @samsonite18654 I'll try my best to help the reader follow along. I appreciate it :)

·

Thank you I'm glad you love it! :)

The first one I said was no confidence and tip 1 is don't compare yourself to other artists.

Well said. Confidence comes when we start to see others like us. Successful people are always full of confidence.
Nice inspirational post with a great teaching.

·

Don't compare yourself to others. we will shine when it's time. :)

One thing annoying for artists is when people ever comment on a good piece they have taken time to work on as many always say " oh you must have been born lucky" like completely forgetting that these artists have been practicing for years!

·

It does take years of practice. Just like everything in life. In order to succeed we have to improve upon it. :)

·
·

I was totally fascinated by your skills. Your really good. Thanks for sharing @vaansteam

good drawing friend, I like your style, it is a kind of "retro realism" with very realistic shadows but without so much detail in the lines and expressions of the face, greetings!

·

Yeah, it's kinda retro feeling. It's actually a character from a game.

Lovely details and shadows!

·

Thank you @paulavg 😊

It seems to me that you did a very good job, I love the shading, the lines of expression, the texture of the suit. You made a great drawing with a lot of impressive details. Excellent post, greetings.

i love this
Its awesome
yea, practice and patience and perseverance is the key

Connor and Hank were by far the best characters in the game. Excellent drawing!

I enjoyed your video. Basically, I never recorded my process in such detail, let alone made a video of it. Thinking about that.
In addition to your array of tools used I might recommend using a stiff bristle brush for scumbling (I prefer it for precision over the traditional scumbler), also, if it is a soft charcoal, it can be washed with a wet brush. Two other tools I find are essential to my drawing. a kneaded eraser and a electric eraser.
Example where I used these: Krix-Krax Spirit Guide

Hello Vaan, first congratulate you for another great drawing you've done, I love your technique and the finish you give to your works.
With regard to what you say in your post I totally agree with your words, I personally have been many years without painting or drawing, for various reasons, but there was a time that had no inspiration and everything I did I went very badly , I saw other jobs of people and wanted to do it like that, but that is not the way to go, each one has a different touch or inspiration from others and we can not want to be equal to people we admire, we must have constancy, tenacity and not give up , continue to do our style that some will like and others do not, but remain true to our work, I have now published a work I did 22 years ago, I presented @dresden, convinced me that published it, and I was very pleased with the votes and opinions has given people. Continues so you're an artist.

this drawing is great, I loved its texture and peer.

My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by cyberlife.

Awesome art vaansteam and good choice of who you chose to draw.

maravilloso trabajo artistico, te felicito.
