Drawing ERMAC from Mortal Kombat - Step By Step -
Hello all, sharing fresh digital art today! This time it's Ermac from Mortal Kombat, game coming out soon, hence the MK Hype :D
This is just a preview, the illustration is done completely in digital, using Sai and Photoshop software and a drawing pad. It was fun to play with colors, shadows, the body pose, soul energy, and a challenge too.
Ermac is composed of a 1000 souls of fallen warriors, wanted to depict that approach and work on it a bit, add the drama and flare to the illustration and as he would say:
We are many, you are but one
This one is a full drawing, finished and all :D
It was a pleasure to be on this one, took some time tho, that's why I haven't posted for a few days. And still working on that big piece for steemit, it's almost 3 months in total will post a preview here :D
It is really hard to draw some fighting game character traditionally in 1/1 scale, but we will get on that later.
Here's the process:
Initial sketch and general idea, all of the lines are drawn in Sai
Fixes and line adjustmens, some gesture and movement adds and removals
Lots of shadow and line work here
Finishing the lines, adding details and moving on to color, lighting and shadow phase
This is the first step in Photoshop, all of the upcoming steps are done there. Basic background color and lighting and the start of character color development
Full color and lighting effects, without shadows and highlights
Color/Shadow work
More lighting effects done here, highlights added and signed :D That's about it with this fella :D Hope you found this interesting and/or helpfull
BONUS:
Big piece teaser, just for the scale of it :D
Have an AWESOME day!!
