Art Attack! #97: A Cold Welcome to Dragonspine 🗻
Hey Steemit!
We're back again with another Art Attack! If you're new to the series, this is where I share my drawings and the process behind them. A behind-the-scenes look at my artwork, if you will. This is not to say that I'm very good at art, or that I'm a professional in any way. In fact this is the opposite, and serves as a reminder to how I first started, and lets me track my progress too!
So it had been at least a month or so in real time since I did the last art piece and this next one because that was when I started streaming on Twitch! It was pretty crazy, and I actually got into a routine of streaming Genshin Impact on Twitch everyday for about a month. It was my first time playing the game, and first time streaming so I was really nervous and thought nobody would watch me and I was surprised to find viewers actually coming into my stream!
It was really cool and gave me a chance to meet new people and new friends that I thought I'd try doing an art stream, and draw live for the first time! The only problem was that I draw very slowly so I wasn't sure if it'll be fun to watch, and it was going to be impossible to read chat and draw at the same time since I would be looking down on my iPad, but we had to live with it I suppose.
Here's the full vod of that stream btw if you're even interested. This was back in 25 Feb 2021 though so it's pretty scuffed imo.
But back during these early art streams, I used to draw a special cat screen for the beginning of the streams it was very simple because I'd literally draw them a few minutes before I actually start stream. And this was the first one:
So I didn't really have plans on what to draw and chat suggested I draw a cryo slime from Genshin Impact, of course! And I tried to draw it from memory but it turned out badly so I ended up with this after the stream:
But I felt like improving on it after the stream so off-stream, I added in more background details drawing inspiration from this other piece I did since I really liked the colours in this one, which I did back during Christmas 2020 for my 12 Days Countdown Challenge!
So following the same stock photo, I drew in a lake and made it seem like the cryo slime is on the lake instead of just floating in the air and I think it turned out pretty good! Here's the full piece:
And here's the timelapse:
Since then my art streams have evolved into playing art games with chat and then working on some emotes, badges and art requests! I'm so glad chat still enjoys watching me draw and it gives us a chance to just chill and chit-chat which is always nice! It felt like I was talking to a bunch of friends! Can't wait to share more stream art and more, so stay tuned!
Thanks so much for reading!
