The Embrace (on canvas) is finished!
This morning I gave the last touches to my new oil painting on canvas titled "The Embrace"! Now it's drying and I admit I'm satisfied by the result.
A lot of different thhings came to my mind while I was painting it! At the start, the first idea of a pice on the theme "embrace" came to me thanks the painting "Adam and Eve" by Gustav Klimt, but after the first idea, a lot of different thoughts were in my mind. I wanted to represent more than a warm embrace, but also the love for each other, the sense of protection, the trust, the confidence. A lot of thing in just an embrace ^_^
I don't know if it's the same in your countries, but here in Italy (in the Tuscany region where I live) we love to give and to receive hugs, we use embrace people to say "hi", to say " I'm sorry for you", to say "I love you". Sure we lve so much embrace people ^_^
Well, it's all for now and I have to come back to work!
See ya soon
Silvia
Very nice Silvia. It has a sweet gentleness to it. Good on you.
Thanks so much, Brian! During the last months I'm trying to give something more while I'm working on my paintings, now I feel to be on the right way (finally ^_^).

It is finished! And what a lovely painting :) I really like how you actually include more facial features in this one, as they convey a lot of warmth that the two figures are feeling for each other. There is peace, trust, love, belongingness... Wonderful emotions are portrayed very well here :)
I also like that the backwash gives a natural glow around the two, as if the embrace is its own light source and a safe space in the world for the pair :)
Wonderful work, Silvia <3
