New Painting - Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown
Fresh off the easel, I’ve just finished this painting of Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown, New Zealand. This painting is a commission and features this familiar view of the Remarkables Mountains and Deer Park Heights.
The time of year is summer where there is often dramatic weather and lighting effects on the mountains.

I wonder why this painting looks so real. The lake water looks really moving.
A great work.
Thanks :)
Love the painting. Your paintings are so lively.
Thanks :)
Wow nice details in the painting. Brings back some good memories!
Thanks :)
This again looks like a photograph. I'm always in awe of the colors that you choose and how you make your paintings look so real.
Your water looks is calling people to jump in and cool down during hot summer days :)
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks. The water in the lake is really cold all year round, I've swam in it in summer and have not been able to stay in for long!
You are amazing, Sam :D I thought this was photo at first, but then I see the brushstrokes and the beautiful detailing * ___ *
Gorgeous piece <3
I see that you've returned to New Zealand, then? :D :D :D
Thanks mate :)
I would swear that the first thing I saw was a photograph and not a painting. that is certainly knowing how to impress someone. well done. I congratulate you because you have a great talent for painting.
Thanks :)
Beautiful work. Loved the contrast of light and shadows.
Very lively. one can almost "see" the wind acting upon the elements
Thanks :)
