LIGHT IN THE DOME. painting. Tjørnuvik 2019.
38x55cm acrylic on wood. Tjørnuvik 2019
There is a view of a hillside rolling quite vertically into the ocean.
Many tones of green are contrasted by the black basalt and some red iron earth.
It´s constantly windy, and the ocean floats up into the sky making threads that dance.
The phantom spirits left navigating the rough sea, elevate to higher realms, to then return in the way of rain.
This sky is complex, unpredictable, strong and in some way a magician.
It shapes itself into all forms, it´s an illusionist.
The sky dome that creates this microclimate, controls the light we perceive life in.
the creative process....
This is the first of the paintings I have done in this artist retreat in Faroe Islands that I feel is finished.
If you have nay feedback I´m happy to hear,
Best Wishes,
Romanie

The land coming down into the water almost looks like the head of a giant dragon, coming to drink at the subterranean lake... What a wonderful piece, Romanie ! I love the lights that are coming down, through the clouds of the domed skies, too <3 Very beautiful work~
Thank you so much Veryspider for your insight! ;-)

The land has so many different textures and colors. I agree with spider.. it indeed looks like a giant dragon head :) I think it's because of that reflection in the water.. It's in harmony with the water and the sky..
Another beautiful piece, Romanie! I haven't been over to your account for too long.. I wasn't online that much now I'm trying to catch up :)
Hope you're doing well. Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!
