I can't think of anything more relaxing that sitting on the beach painting. I've never done a watercolour but really like the idea as they seem impressionistic more than anything and you can't get that wrong! They have a dreamy aspect to them. Hanging on the beach painting with your wife seems like a lovely thing to do!
For me, it's difficult to sit for long. Legs get stiff. I am more a table painting person. But @silver.art has no problem sitting on rocks until her canvas is done.
