My husband suggested I paint some boobies, he said I could make at least $100.00. I had a good laugh and said, "why not?"
Rendered on mixed media paper with watercolor and gouache.
Details on the species regarding habitat and behavior will be added with finished painting.
I didn't know this, while researching, I found out the reason why the Blue Footed Boobies display their feet as they do their mating dance is because...blue feet are a sign of excellent health! If a bird isn't phsysically on top of his or her game their feet will be off colored. When mating it's important to be healthy because of the endurance needed to feed and guard the the young. The BFB are in trouble though, rats are invading their habitats and eating their young and their eggs. The birds don't know what to do, they just stand there and watch the feast.

You have really done nice work in capturing their personalities and actions. The coloration on the left one is really nice, too, with the orangish undertone. This is going to be a great piece!
