Picking Apples (WIP)
The Apple Tree ~ Second Layer
This painting isn't finished, it is a work in progress
After I finished html formatting my 10fold Path article today I spent the rest of my day out lining the leaves, apples, and branches on the apple tree. This is the second layer. The third layer will consist of laying wet colors for shadow and contrast. Not really detail work. When you use gouache for outlining you can gently place other colors on top and just let the watercolor spread. I won't be blending colors. It's a delicate method, any pressure from the brush will smug and spread the white gouache. This is my own method I came up with playing with watercolor and gouache
Right now the tree looks kind of flat, but when I add darker colors to give shadows the tree will gain some depth. I didn't really plan for this, it just kinda happened. I've done this before, the detail outlining and it felt right to do this method with this painting. I hope it turns out!
Working from an old memory, sketching a memory into form and finally creating a painting.

I envy your talent. If I can draw like that, I can express a lot. I'll always cheer.
I've cared for many children in my life. We are all born creative artist. Those who continue to draw and paint as they grow into adults become artist. I've been drawing since my Mom trusted me with a pencil. I know that within us all we have the creative genius. It's not easy to create, you must practice and the genius in you will grow and mature.
@reddust,
Oh no this is amazing! I told first, this might be finished in layer 4! Now I think it might be go beyond that! Amazing artwork my dear friend!
Cheers~
I am still on the second layer, I will be working on the grass today and the road. I pick one area, like the apple tree and apply details for the second layer. Third layer will be shadows and refining lines.

Wel done mam...
Thank you @dini1, I have had a lovely time remembering my childhood through painting this picture.
I do not want to imagine when this beautiful painting is finished. great work and very beautiful.
I really don't have a clue how this painting will turn out. I have a difficult time painting from memories. We can find out together @joss9223
This work has begun to turn out to be wonderful. I was very curious. It will be a perfect work at the end. @reddust
It's slow, this pieces is going to be one of my detail paintings.
You coloured the horse so wonderfully.
It looks almost real, good job :d
The horse turned out really well, I am happy, hopefully everything else will turn out as nice.
Love how it’s turning out and excited for layer 3. It’s got great texture and feeling already 🍎
I have to practice my patience, if I get too excited I start procrastinating...hahaha
Thank you @mountainjewl
The final result will be wonderful i can see that
I can't wait, paintings like this are a good time to practice patience. Kind of like building up muscles when weight lifting @soufianchakrouf.
Yes right we should challenge our abilities always
You made the appels and i can see that you haven't lined up the feet, but any way the process is going just awesome, and the 🍎 tree looks amazing. Can i take one please :)
The feet won't be lined up until I add the grass design, that happens today. Shadows go on when everything is done and that's when perspective lines up...It's all about shadows.
