First Layer Is Finished
Today I worked on the part of a character painting that makes me nervous. A human face! As I work on the face, if I can maintain my patience and stay aware, the face takes shape and pops out. This happens usually when I catch the highlight and shadows around the eyes, nose, and mouth. It's important to line up the ears as well. The geometry of angles between the sense doors explains our character and how we identify others. I like the feeling when I see the character starts talking to me. Today Beric said hello!
Tomorrow I start adding details and deeper shadows to the characters face, hair, and clothing. If I have time I will finish up the dragons and add more fog, snow, and shadows to the middle ground.
