Work in Progress - Tiny Faces Becoming Luminous.
I only got through four little characters last night before my neck got too sore for detail work. It's looking good, though, if I might toot my own horn. I'm getting things like necklines, hands, and fabric folds as I go. I'll need to do a second layer on several parts, but if I slowly move from one side of the canvas to the other, the left side might be dry enough for layer #2 by the time the whole of it is covered.
Here's a detail shot with my thumb for scale.
I lost a little bit of shading to muddiness on the first Malkovich, so all sorts of things to see to upon finishing the first layer. Also, that weird fleshy bit over his shoulder will become a hand eventually.
I got some great news yesterday! My thyroid is functioning normally. No Graves Disease for this guy! All of the associated symptoms I have written on in the previous blog updates, I guess are just part of the human condition. And my irritability? Chalk it up to my personality! I can't blame that on anything medical. Well, only one more test waiting to happen. I'm going to be getting a little heart monitor harness for a couple days just to make sure my ticker beats stably all around the clock, not just when watched. It looks good!
Today, we'll see how much I can get through. Four faces seems like a safe number. I have to dedicate the rest of my time to the Fringe piece, which we're set to do a cold read of tomorrow. Can't wait to see that take off!

Wow ! I am glad to hear that your thyroid is good and healthy ! Such a relief :D :D :D I hope you will also pass the last test wonderfully, Rache :)
It's so cool to see the picture in scale against your thumb size :D I had forgotten the size completely, thinking it is as big as the original painting XD But I suppose you would have to strain a fair bit to do this painting with these many details on a relatively small size of canvas.... I hope you will take regular breaks in between sessions <3
