Mellow Yellow Poppies
Tranquility in yellow
Beautiful yellow poppies sway gently in the breeze, their petals illuminated by the sun. There is a beautiful tranquility in the garden at this time of year. The birds are singing, and leaves kissed with sap greens and golden yellows seem to dance to their tunes.
Nestled on the grass I sat and painted this clump of yellow poppies. Their delicate petals look like yellow silk. The bees come and go while I paint, attracted to the bright colours.
I masked off areas of white and then built up several layers of colour using brush strokes and finely splattering paint.
