Li'l Witch: pre-Halloween drawing
It's coming!!!
Halloween, that is. I don't know about you, but I am STOKED! I mean, I love to decorate my house (and myself) with skulls any time of the year, I have a definite dark/morbid side, and I'm pretty "weird"... so, basically every day is Halloween in my house. But there's something about this time of year, when it's all so popular and prevalent, that sort of feels so right. It's my happy time... and not only because it's the perfect time to find all sorts of pretty and morbid things to adorn my home. lol (What can I say, Morticia is sort of my idol.)
So, with Halloween on the brain, I've been thinking up all sorts of drawing ideas. And this morning, on our way home from dropping wee man at school, little miss had to grab a giant stick she found on the ground, and all I could think was that it looked like some sort of sorcerer's staff. Which then gave me the inspiration to draw up my little miss as this Li'l Witch.
My thought behind it was that she went exploring in mama witch's shed/shop/magic studio, and decided to try the hat, cloak, and magic wand on for size, the same way my kids love digging through my closet. :)
I started with a pencil sketch on brown paper:
Then inked it using micron pens:
I colored it using prismacolor pencils, as usual. Here are a couple detail shots, with my handy-dandy push pin as a size reference:
It's Monday. I was not ready to get up this morning. I'm tired. Here's proof. :p
I'm hoping to draw up a few more Halloween-inspired things in the next couple weeks. What would you guys like to see?

Thank you! I'll definitely be doing more between now and Halloween... I just need to decide what to draw next! :)
