Blue Owl - animal drawing contest
Holy moly!
I drew a picture!
I mean, I fully completed an entire drawing... with a background and everything! I honestly can't remember the last time I even drew a proper background. And it wasn't actually part of my original plan. But since getting back into drawing, and getting into steemit, and seeing all the amazing talent around, I've decided to try to challenge myself, to grow as an artist.
So, when I came across this wonderful artist @marty-arts, and I saw that she was hosting an animal drawing contest, I knew I wanted to push myself, and get something together.
I did the sketch yesterday:
Then colored it with my hand-me-down Prismacolor pencils today. Here are a few progress pictures:

Thank you! At first I wasn't sure where I was headed with the color scheme, but that ultramarine kept calling me. haha
And thanks about the hair! I just re-colored it earlier this week. It's never the same for very long. lol

Thank you! :) The fluff gave me some grief at first, but I ended up really liking how it turned out in the end. Persistence pays off, I guess. haha
