Sketch & Scribble #1 : SYKES - Step-by-Step
Hey Sketchers!
Welcome to my personal series of Sketches & Scribbles!
I have recently been getting back into drawing and am now, once again, fully addicted thanks to @w0olf 's Character Challenge competition!

Today I decided to do a little sketch of a gangsta/rapper friend of mine while he was on shift at ROXY's Late Night, one of the raddest local spots in Cape Town (full review coming soon!)

The Process:
Step 1 - Rough Outlines
It always starts off as a few rough lines before taking shape
Step 2 - Final Pencil Outlines
Start committing to some finer lines and details
Step 3 - Fineliner Outlines
Final Outlines
Step 4 - Colour Delegation
Koki-Colour Outlines
Step 5 - Colouring - Crayon & Koki Medium
Light Crayon Colouring
Step 6 - Final Touches - Little bit of shading and colour depth
Full Colouring and light pencil shading

Hey man. You make me want to start sketching with your step-by-step pictures and I can't draw to save my life. Dude looks mean though. I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of this guy.

Dude I'm keen, you said it yourself, build other creative areas of the brain and they help eachother in a symbiosis ;)

Nah nah nah, I was joking, I can rhyme not rap, also,I can't make it all up the spot gotta write it down, then I can perform it once I know it, but have never tried to freestyle but I just don't think I have the accent or the attitude to be droppin' all the "G's" for dashes and only speaking in the continuous form haha

Hahaha these are amazing! They dont work well on mobile though, have to rotate to landscape to view properly, very cool though!
My phone must be broken. The smiley dude looks a little unwell even in landscape...
I always admire a person who can form an image in their mind and reproduce it on paper. It amazes me. Nice!

Yes I saw the picture. You saw him then formed a picture in your mind then converted it to art. Very cool
Hi @nicknihtshade! I’m one of your followers. You impressed me, not only because of your amazing artist, but because you and I have many things in common according to your blog. We’re like twins other than I’m a 58 year old grandma 👵. You commented on one of my pieces of art work that I entered into one of @w0olfs character challenges,I could see that you had a very similar sense of humor. I drew the Hades character with the angel wings, so that’s when I started to fallow you. Just was checking how your doing, and I seen this deal nice 👍. I came in 2nd place in an contest called @googlyeyes and for my prize, my upvote I believe is worth five or six cents. Just for a short time. So here ya go, I nice little upvote, just Spreading The Love ❤️. I’d also like to ask you to perhaps enter another contest to help a guy out it’s called @raptordashzero Sticky Art Contest. He’s having a hard time getting it started. I told him I’d tell my art friends about it.Just started Steemit a week and a half ago, so friends are limited ,if you don’t mind helping out a brother artist by speading the word ,and love, I’d appreciate it. Hey @lildebbiecakes thank you for your lengthly reply :) I will go checkbout @raptordashzero 's contest page, keep in mind I only met all the artists I know through @w0olf and he's contest so he is the dude to talk to for advice on starting up but all artists are always looking for more reasons and challenges to "draw" inspiration from haha so I'll be sure to check it out, thank you for your support :)

He has some free-styles out but nothing that is polished and complete. I have started helping him write and complete his songs, We gotta get one up for youball to hear sometime soon!
