Would you like some critique?
Sometimes as an artist you are called up to the odd job of curating an exhibition. I have such event coming next month and I would like to have some practice beforehand as it is my first time. My job will consist of selecting the works for display and giving feedback few days after to all willing from those who had applied.
If you have made an artwork and would like to get some feedback on it, please leave a link to the work below. I would like you to tell me as much about the work as you can; what was the idea behind it, what were you trying to achieve and if there is particular area you would like to receive feedback about? Tell me a little bit about your history with making art and i will try to take that into consideration; any level of experience is fine as long as you are willing to receive critique and looking to improve. I will try to give feedback to as many artworks as possible. If there is a lot and i have to choose I will prioritize based up on the information you give me and will prefer finished paintings or drawings in the traditional mediums. If there is enough interest, I will be making a post featuring a selection of the works in a week or two, so let me know in the comments if you would like your work presented there as well - no guarantees though.
Hopefully I get so see some interesting art in the few days.
If you leave a link i will reply in the following post, and if it's an image i'll reply here.

I am a professional visual artist from Finland. I graduated from Lahti Institute of Fine Arts in 2011 and have been pursuing my career since. I've held several solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions with my artgroup Hydra. I received the prize in Art of Basware competition in 2011. I am an aspirant member of the Finnish painters union and in the board of Lahti artist's association. Detailed cv can be found on my website at mikkolyytinen.com
I thought about adding cheesy clipart but my heart would not let me. So wonky drawing of a hydra head instead - may it lower the treshold.

Not a cheesy hydra head? That could be an interesting snack!

Like your idea here. :)
Maybe a little.. Thank you
awesomeness. good luck on your upcoming gig
Thank you, it is pretty exciting
Nice idea! Here's my photography / art effort that I put together with various software. I'm not even sure if this kind of stuff is what your looking for. I have the original photo for comparison too. I've really been kind of fascinated by the merging of photography and 3D graphics with more traditional painting. (The paint strokes here are generated by software and merged with the photo)
Butterflies have been a subject that I feel shows the movement towards a new and brighter future. I would welcome any feedback.

For a computer generated painting I like how the brushwork is not over emphasized, maybe the generation shows it reveals in the borders but it doesn't bother too much. The colors work well over all. MAybe the butterfyl could stand out a little more from the bacground in the dark area. Top left may be drawing too much attention with the dark and bright yellow and bringit it to the front too much, but suppose it balances the right bottom corner. There are a lot of interesting random patterns here and there, that i would like to see a little bit more- bringing it back to the generation. (not to the level of deep dreams though.)
The colors are very earthy and autumny, which sort of is not heading towards brightness, but as they are refined in the butterfly the idea works somewhat, but the most intensive colors are in the background so maybe there is idea of crossing the river to the colors. also noting the little bit of yellow in it's antennae, how much of it is all accident? It is a beautiful picture and it's fascinating how image processing is developing. thank you again for showing your work. Hope there is something you can take home from this.
Thank you for the feedback! I’ll keep these things in mind next time I make something for a blog post. I used this image on my post about ‘Global Abundance’ hoping to show the possibilities for change. Perhaps I’m better off just using the original photo - I’m never sure. It is a learning process to work with all the different software out there and I’m never completely happy with the results but I have fun with it. Usually I write something then look at all my photos and try to find things that will work with the post. Maybe I’ll try making a picture first and then write a post about it. (I’ve taken some nice texture photos of Labradorite today that would be fun to use in a project.)
The yellow near the antennae is the colors from the original picture coming through, I liked the effect and might have adjusted a bit with one of the brushes to brighten it up. The shadowing is adjusted and clone stamped a bit. Here’s a screen capture of the original for comparison.
I think it is great you are going through the extra step of creating something to illustrate your blog, it really gives it a personal touch. I think what you made there is more interesting than the original. Being not entirely happy might be the natural state as you are always progressing. Keep it up. I'm looking forward to see how that labradorite turns out to be.
No objection to digital works personally, but I think i can be best of help to artists working with the traditional mediums. But I'll give it a closer look tomorrow. Thanks you for sharing
I can take constructive criticism ... I'm self taught, I have been drawing and painting off and on but pretty constantly most of my life, I'm in my mid 50s . I paint because I want to tell or story or catch something I think is pretty. This painting was done to honor my Greatgrandma who was from the Blackfoot tribes, this is a Piegan maiden taken from a 1890 photograph. Painting is watercolor on 300lb hot press cotton paper https://steemit.com/art/@reddust/water-spirit-maiden
Thank you, I will look at it tomorrow with fresh eyes. 5 am here :)
Thank you, time for sleep zzzzzzz
Wonderful work, left feedback in the comments there :)
Thank you! I've never really had a critique, I'm checking it out! Having worked for lawyers as an assistant or paralegal, I'm used to criticism. My skin is 2inches thick...haha!
I just regret I'm not an artist.
Don't let that idea stop you from creating what you want :)
Hi
I think your idea of giving feedback is awesome
