Drink from the dark
Here is a drawing i've been working on in little bits over the past couple of weeks. It has been pretty gloomy outside, getting darker and colder each day and i guess this kind of long winded work is the thing it calls for.
I was reminded of a concept from the olden days before TV or smartphones, when it was too dark to do anything useful outside, the time was used to do some crafts. The finnish term puhdetyöt came to mean specifically the craft items done by soldiers in the trenches during Continuation War, decorating knive handles etc. As i was looking for a good translation for that, i came across the term scrimshaw - which points to the same kind of work done by whalers on whale bones during their passtime. I find it interesting how these limiting(and by chance cruel in these examples) conditions bring about the creativity by these apparently therapeutic art forms. Without dwelling too much into the topic it, kind of parallers to the spirit where i was going with this drawing.
The image probably gets a little squeezed for the post so it may be best viewed in full from the link below.

Thank you very much. That is an interesting prospect, i'll have to look at using Twitter again.
This work is mind blowing. The dragon and the ghost can capture ones breath.
