Glass Comics: The Office - The Story Behind My Glass Artwork
For my graduation project in Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, I created a “Glass Comics” - five scenes of 3D comics made of glass, telling the story of an office clerk who wants to break free from his repetitive job and monotonous modern career.
“The Office” is the first scene and is made of some very thin glass sheets (2mm) that were hand-drawn and glued using an ultraviolet glass glue.
The mysterious fish in the background is meant to show how small many workers feel in the modern world. It looks huge, but it’s actually an illusion - it’s closer to the viewer, thus larger and intimidating.
In today's world, the work culture in many places is not designed to support the emotional, personal, and even financial needs of employees. As a result, many people feel they are not respected, appreciated, and cared for.
Creating this piece has been a way for me to raise awareness of this issue. Thus, I hope that all workers around the world will get the pay, respect, and care they deserve as assets of the businesses they work for.
I hope that someday, workers will not feel so small and vulnerable in the big business world anymore.
Thanks for dropping by and reading my post. Have a great day! 😀
