The eastern city of Polonnaruwa, with its World Heritage listed archaeological park, is one of the largest STUPA temples in Sri Lanka. Stupas are Buddhist structures that symbolize the Buddha and his teachings. The following picture shows the largest stupa temple in the park. Before you can enter the temple, the shoes must be removed.	Die im osten gelegenende Stadt Polonnaruwa bietet mit seinen archologischen Park, der unter Weltkulturerbe steht, eine der größten STUPA Tempel auf Sri Lanka. Stupas sind buddhistische Bauwerke, das den Buddha und seine Lehre symbolisiert. Auf dem folgenden Bild ist der größte Stupa Tempel des Parks zu sehen. Bevor man den Tempel betreten darf, müssen die Schuhe ausgezogen werden.
