Jimi Hendrix caricature - Overkilled!!!
Hello there Steemers!!!
Well, as said, yesterday I received my set of Tombow brushes. I did JFK yesterday doing some minor waterbrushing, while today I wanted to go more extreme... and I think I went a little too far!!!
This is the stage where I liked the drawing best, and I should have kept it like that:
The white face showing the details and the white background giving it all more exposure was great ... WAS because, I fucked it up :(
I already had the drawing ready two days ago, when I draw JKF and Jimi in the same night.
I liked the face, but the sheet was too small to cover all the hair. So I took a bigger sheet of paper and took the old as a reference, going straight with the inking.
I almost never use this option that my desk offers, but it is fun :)
Finished with the face, the Tombow brushes came into the game. I didn't want to do the face with the tombow as I wanted it to look sharp. With the initial outline done the drawing looked like this.
Next step, some color... For what I had seen on yt regarding the tombow brushes, you can mix the colors with a waterbrush,... But never really done it, it was a bit of a jump in the dark... But I was confident enough that you can play a lot with the waterbrush so I did no effort in coloring in the drawing accurately... as you can see...
Looks awful, right? I Believe it or not, with only these colors I got the result you see in the first picture. The black when watered down becomes a kind of dark blue... and mixing all the colors together really is good fun!!!
BUT ,... as I am experimenting and sometimes I wanna overkill things,.. I went on with it ...
Not too bad either,... but I preferred the white one waaaaaaay more... That really is the only down side compared with digital drawing,... You can do whatever you want.
I will keep my Jimi as it is,... :))

My mum once walked out of a Jimi Hendrix concert in Belfast back in the 60s, she just thought it was an awful loud racket. I nearly disowned her when she said this!

That's the uniqueness of perspective. Each and everyone of us has a different view and emotions we get from what may seem the same thing.

It does wonders for me too. Its very relaxing especially when its 1 am and your brain is going crazy with different ideas haha I know most of the people here are awesome and kind too. I just hope there is more users tho.
Yes, do you have it sometimes as well, when laying in bed and you just get an idea which will not let you sleep? You just need to stand up and do it, as sleep is gone anyway! Those are very often even the best ones :D Im sure that with time there will be more and more people joining in, but already now I am very happy with the content which is flying by every day!
Oh yes ! It's like every night haha when you just want to have a goodnight sleep but your brain says fuck you no (sorry for the language) 😁 and hits you with a buch if ideas. Thats how I feel every night, actually its currently 2am and I'm painting. Yeah the platform is awesome and people are genuinly nice too and the earning part for me is like a bonus !
hahaha oh god, every night!! :)) I have it from time to time, but still... every time the creativity comes you need to take it!! its 23.00 here now, and I feel to make something as well,... I will leave you to your painting, looking forward to see the result :)

thank you very much! I never had art lessons, I just loved it as a kid and continued to develop my own style throughout the years. The bamboo stick was very good already, gave you a follow looking forward for your future creations!
