“Dandelions”
I love dandelions because they are beautiful. Their lives are pretty short. For the Japanese culture of beauty, people admire ephemeral living thing from ancient times, for example, cicadas, cherry blossoms or salmon. Their lives are very short. They live their lives as much as they can until they finish. This is the beauty of living things that most of the people think of, even if they don’t think about it all the time. It doesn’t connecting to our life length. It just expresses about the beauty of life, I guess.
Dandelions’ lives are also not so long but their lives are beautiful. I like the flying fluff. When they fly away, they look like they are going on a trip.

私は、綺麗なのでタンポポが大好きです。タンポポの一生は結構短いですね。日本の美しさの文化では、昔から人々は儚い命にうっとりとします。例えば蝉や桜や鮭。彼らの一生はとても短いです。彼らは、その命が尽きるまで一生懸命生きます。それが生きとし生けるものの美であると、常に意識していないにせよ、多くの人がそのように考えます。これは人生の長さのことではありません。単に、人生の美しさについて表現しているのだと思います。
タンポポの命もそれほど長くはありませんが、とても美しい一生です。私は飛んでいる綿毛が好きです。タンポポの綿毛が飛ぶ時、旅に出かけるように見えます。
