MADHUBAN ART

The inspiration in all these Madhubani paintings comes from the nature. It takes birds, animals, fishes,trees and human figure in Indian attire. "Madhuban art" has always been fascinating to me. I love the color and doodle combination. I would call it ETHNIC DOODLE.

These originated as a decoration thing in the house on the occasion of marriages or child birth in the house and other special auspicious occasions .

The material earlier used to create these were thin bamboo sticks with a thin wrapping of cotton on the top. This was to give it thin and clean outcome since the painting is all about lines.

The colors used in these were all the natural colors derived from the nature directly. Hence, the colors are more like red, green, yellow and combinations of these.

Nowadays, more experiments are done with more different colors and more shapes and size and has taken a modern look in itself which is too appreciative, as more and more are combining and given space on social media.

Still, only a few of people knows about it and has seen it very less. It is more seen in the village parts of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar and work there is marvelous. One should pay a visit to understand the actual Madhuban art there.
