Bootleg painting
I am working on the next page of my webcomic, but as a small distraction I just made this experiment to see if I could skip some corners by simply painting on top of another image. I choose a moody winter photo and tried to make it into something new. I gave myself 15 minuttes and here it is, although it is not really faster than just doing it from the bottom. Still I thought it a fun experiment for a post here.

Thanks! I guess that I am not really finished with trying out ways of stealing :) Maybe I could use a lot of blur and then use it for some backgrounds. I would paint over it, but the colours would be there. Also it could be a way to start on an improvised painting. I often make things without sketching that change and evolve over time. Like this one.
Now I can't look at the second photo without seeing a train. Really well done!
Maybe it was there all the time, behind the Christmas window of the corner-shop.
