More than 100 works of American artist, Georgia O'keeffe, covering the period from 1915 to 1960-ies, was opened in London Tate Modern Museum.

In the center of the exhibition is the painting "White flower No. 1", the most expensive work of the artist. This painting, according to the curators of the Tate, has all the main characteristics of her painting.

"Red and orange", 1919, by Georgia O KeeffeBBC
The paintings are exhibited in 13 halls and trace the creative path of the artist, from early abstract charcoal sketches and watercolours to more recent landscapes inspired by her travel experiences.

"Far away", 1937, by Georgia O KeeffeBBC
Exhibition curator Tanya Barson believes that O'keeffe spoke for the first time their own artistic language, when he began work on the images of skulls. "Usually they are considered to be surrealism, but in fact these paintings are far from surrealism, they reflect the fact that O'keeffe saw around him, - the American landscape".
