Tulips
Not one can write a sonnet or hum a sonatina
or win the Nobel Prize for Literature.
None of them has ever lied or harbored any
jealousy towards peonies or rhododendrons.
They cannot be taught to fear immigrants
or to hate Muslims and Latinos.
Not one contaminates the world with plastics or
cares about your gender or your sexual choices.
They don’t care who wields the scissors or
who fills the glass with water. They only want
A little patch of dirt, some rain and sunlight
and to give us the joy of their presence every Spring.

So beautiful, @jmkartworks <3 I like the composition, with some of the tulips contained in the vase, and some lying outside on the ground... it creates a natural arrangement, as if someone is about to come back and put the ones lying outside into the vase :) The colours are wonderful! The reds and greens are lively, and I love how you did the shadows with the shades of purple <3 Very lovely~
And that poem is so sobering and also so wonderfully empowering, somehow.... I really like it :) What a gorgeous post!
Thank you once again for your thoughts, veryspider. I appreciate your taking the time to tell me what you think.
