Okanagan 2017 Plein-air painting with Pocahontas. Art/Camping/Chilling in 21 Photos

in #art7 years ago (edited)

To keep the 6 years tradition going I took off to Okanagan to paint and camp in nature two weeks ago.I wasn't alone this time. I was with my best travelling companion. And it was the best trip ever.

Over-dressed :) Now you see why I call her Pocahontas? She even has a bad-ass scratch on her shoulder like a proper jungle woman :P

When we were leaving Vancouver, it was like 18 degrees Celsius and drizzling, which is always a good day to leave. As soon as we got past the first range of mountain after the town of Hope, the sun started to shine. It's usually like that when you are going to interior BC in summer, one of the sunniest regions.

Again, it was fires all over interior BC. Dry hot summer. But we were super lucky. By the time we got to Summerland we learned (from a cashier in Liquor Store), that the smoke that filled whole town for past few days just lifted today. Luck is our constant companion, we could write a book about it! :)

She crossed the ocean 4 times in 1 week for me. How lucky am I?

And well. The rest of the trip- pictures tell the story the best! We found a prime camping spot by the river, far enough from people and separated by a little hill, that we could just be naked and happy by ourselves.

Definition of Happiness!

Nothing compares to that feeling to be in nature and not being restrained by the society imposed rules. Note: yes we do keep an eye on our fire constantly and we do extinguish it thoroughly. And we don't leave any garbage behind. Quite the contrary- we collect garbage of other people, which is sadly abundant. I still don't understand how these humanoids operate: they come, have a great time in nature and as a token of appreciation they leave their crap behind. Sodomy without lubricant on those idiots! :)

The Shinkanzen arrived on time, as usually :)

Essential pose.

I painted 3 paintings this trip, but one had to be interrupted due to gushes of wind that just kept on topping my easel over. Life of an plein-air artist ain't always easy, but it's rewarding!

This was before the wind started to blow. Smiley faces :)

This is as far as I got with this one before the wind made it impossible to continue.
After that we did what we do the best- cooked our dinner on fire, had a beer and jumped in the river.

step 2: float!

Overall it was an amazing trip. And that takes a great company. Which for me is either alone (I cope with myself without people surprisingly well:) , or with the girl that I traveled half of the planet with already, the only girl that can stand the moods and crazy ideas of a wild artist like me, my beloved @gladysmak

Okanagan lake. I had to carry her in the water in my arms. She is such a sissy! :P

Nature, water, fire and Pocahontas. Not much else you need.

Awesome post! I'm a huge fan of plein-air painting- but I am yet to do it with my top off! ;D

Thanks Ophelia! When that day comes please tag me so I don't miss it @opheliafu :D

Lol! It may be a long wait.

Looks like you both had fun in the wilds. I bet that water was cold! ;-)

The water was perfect cooling temperature in the heat @leoplaw! Thanks bro

beautiful drawings

cheers mate :)

they are paintings btw ;)

We should invite 500 millions of asians to live in europe. There is not enough of them here. To much europeans. And yes its good to watch disney pocahontas encouraging race mixing in one race.

next time you watch porn think about us @winvideos. I can't believe your species still exist in 21st century. And if you wondering what that is, look up #dickhead in dictionary, that sums your mentality well enough ;) Just watch me rolling you idiot, watch and choke ;)

wow!!! that is so cool! I haven't experience being in the woods and naked lol! I love your paintings. I think you're really good at what you do. No wonder why Pocahontas loves you. <3

She loves me for many reasons, but mainly because I'm the craziest mathafaka in the world, which is kinda inspiring :) Thanks @pinaynomad. Nice blog you have!

Somehow I lost track of your account on Steemit. I stumbled across a post of yours I shared on Facebook and I'm excited to be reading your content again.
