RE: 700 followers celebration - a contest for my followers inside - get a free drawing from me:)

in #art7 years ago

I'm in, so the hardest thing is, which do I choose when I win. I guess it has to be R2. Also, I can use a sound tattoo of, well, whatever it is he's saying. I'll just use a clip from the movies.

Another thing I'm interested in is the learning curve between drawing free hand, and your new device (I forget the specific name, clique or something). My sister has remarkable skills as an artist. She can paint and draw freehand so well, but 15 years of various kinds of abuse has left her...well, she's not good. I'd love to maybe get her something like what you have that may compel her to do more with herself instead of just float through life never utilizing her talents, but I'm afraid she would not commit the time to learn it.

In fact cintiq is not that different from free hand, you just use digital canvas instead of real. When it comes to price they're equal - to buy traditional mediums all the time or to use tablet over and over again. I think it may be a really great gift for an artist, but if she feels depressed (I got it right?) she may just loose her will to draw, and no tool will help:(

She's...complicated. She's had a lot of tough beats and been through a lot, but has also been a complete wrecking ball to the family. Her arrow has been pointed up lately, so the fingers are crossed. All she does is live with our parents with 3 kids and no job though, letting her few talents waste in favor of Facebooking all day. Thought something like this might help her make her talents a little more marketable, or at least compel her to do something

Well... I know what abuse is on my own skin, and a person may feel completely psychologically desolated. Iт my situation I started from psychologist, but drawing was my passion and the only thing I was interested in, so I had no need to make myself to draw. I'm not sure I'm the one to give any advices, it's really complicated.
But anyway a graphic tablet like cintiq doesn't take any time to learn how to draw. The tablet like wacom intuos takes time to get used to it, cause you draw on it but the image appeares on the screen of the computer, not on the tablet which looks like this:

But anyway one has to know how the soft for drawing works, for any tablet. I use photoshop, and it takes a bit effort to understand it.
English is my second, so it's a bit hard to explain:)

Luckily, she already has photoshop and understands it to some extent, so I think she would be good on that.

Then a tablet will be great thing to have:)
