The Future of Tattoos - Skin Motion

Tattoos have been popular for, well, just about ever - from tribal days to modern times. While the application method of the dyes has changed over time, the premise has remained the same; create art on your body that expresses something (and that expression could be very different from person to person).

That's all about to change.

A new company called Skin Motion has developed a way to create a sound-wave tattoo that can be read by their app on a smartphone to play up to one minute of audio. Here's how it works...

First, you upload an audio clip 1-minute or less and the system will generate a unique sound-wave pattern. You then receive that pattern and take it to an "in network" tattoo artist who can turn the sound-wave into a tattoo (the artist needs to be licensed in order to understand the limitations of the technology). Once the tattoo is complete, you upload a picture of it to their database, where it is processed by their specially designed software and tethered to the audio file so that anyone using the app can scan the tattoo and hear the sound clip.
