Intuitive Drawing for Valerie into 3D Painting ... embodying QabalahsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #art7 years ago

So this was the drawing I did for my friend Valerie in trade for her marketing help.

I redrew it on paper and glued that to wood. And using this sculpting material which feels like dryer lint mixed with a binder, I sculpted some relief images...here, I try to create the impression of the 4 worlds by depicting the Material world as 1 dimensional and the other 3 as 3D relief in varying levels. The 4th world is the causal world and it brings things into the material through 3 to 2 to 1 - Soul inspiration to thought to creation.

Valerie wants to have a baby. It was confirmed that God and her Archangel are in agreement and sent that idea to her - the drawing confirms - she is using the Sigil in the image of the turtle to bring this about, because her current boyfriend does not want kids...

The Sun...is in the 4th World - the Archetypal Word - It is Chiah - Life-Force. The Archangel is in the 3rd World - Briah - the Creative World - but is also an angel and therefore in the 2nd World- Yetzirah, the Formative World - and we are in the 1st World - Assiah - the Material World -

in Qabalah, and the Spiritual beings are Archetypes which live in the (causal) dimensions, but they have the ability to move in and out of the dimensions and touch us in the Material.

The Turtle is in all 4 dimensons, as a turtle and as an Archetype of the carrier of wisdom of the ancients.

We'll see how it looks painted.

Love seeing your process. The turtle is a POWERFUL symbol relating to creationism all over the world. Native Americans, Indian and Chinese all have stories and myths relating to the turtle and the beginning of the world. A great totem for creating a family : )

thank you for that inspiration! I did start the wheel today...

amazing work such an outstanding work dear Still-life and human-model life drawing. Draw draw draw draw draw loads. You'll get better. Don't be discouraged. My 3d spatial abilities is super crap, and to top it off, I have astigmatism. Just makes it more fun when you're doing life drawing, have a bit of a laugh at how your final result looks a bit distorted and keep it fun. You'll get there! Good luck! i also want to give you some tips on 3d drawing work because im also a painter at my university in fine arts department soHere's my best hot tips:

Don't be afraid of overlaps, not just between two objects but especially between different parts of the same object, e.g. nose and cheek.
Overlaps tend to be more present around the edges of a form.
Be aware that when most people start trying to draw 3D they tend to draw outlines and kind of placeholder symbols for things. Practicing drawing just the overlaps is the thing that will give you that intuitive sense of space. Even if your style is based more on outlines and 2d shapes, having that intuitive sense of space is a huge advantage.
Use construction shapes, contour drawing and all those techniques they suggest in how to draw books. But they are learning tools, stepping stones that you use when you need them.
Practice the techniques that interest you, at your own pace.
Being too focused on improving can weirdly slow down your progress. You'll know you're in the zone when mistakes start to bother you less and you become more focused on the process of solving the problem. The mistakes feel more like 'feedback' guiding you along.
When faced with a challenging drawing, I usually bounce between different approaches until something works.
Drawing is so much more than just 3D space. Weight and movement are probably next on the list; composition, expression, shape language, etc. I think this is why people always go on about persistence, patience and doing things your own way. It's overwhelming otherwise.

good luck dear and again the best post i like it a lot

thank you for your support @shanzalizay - blessings!

pleasure is all mine dear keep this work on

Turtles are amazing to watch. I've only ever seen the one swimming around in the National Aquarium in Plymouth, but I find watching it deeply resonating compared to the fish. And I love the fish. All marine life is quite entrancing to watch. I think it because gravity means so little to them. Above water even birds have to land to rest. Marine life moves in three dimensions effortlessly. Of course, marine reptiles and mammals need to surface to breath and a few other things, but whilst they are in the water...

thank you @antonchanning for that perspective... I appreciate it. I will contemplate that while I do the painting and see if I get more info...
