“Upward, not Northward” : Ego Drawing Series (Part 1)
Ego [noun] the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity.
Drawing the Ego : A Singular Artist
“Ego” is the continuation of our collective “Id” series, represented through four individual drawings. Each of the four hands from the previous collaborative drawing project was given a template to proliferate within, allowing an individual to design the entire composition.
All four hands worked in retracting themes which had been embedded within the past series. The results are four distinct Egos, organizing themselves to discover a natural context, a vernacular form to inhabit, and a distinct presence all their own.

Thank you opheliafu ! Eric did some incredible linework and dot-art on this one. We love the way he chose to layer and texture squares and circles on top of one another. It took him countless hours to complete it! I wish we had a timelapse video of him in the zone. - Kirk
The shadowing on that central dotted circle really pulls you in, he did a fantastic job.
