Eye of Art #20 : PichiAvo
As PichiAvo are the main artists for the 2019 Mural Festival, we'll take a closer look at their works (both murals and paintings) thanks to the exhibition Lefkos at Station 16 Gallery (street art gallery in Montreal in the center of the Festival Boulevard Saint-Laurent).
The Spanish duo is finishing their mural with the appearance of a second god, always in grisaille like the ancient statues (Greek or Roman).
WHO
PichiAvo is Spanish duo of graffiti writers and classical artists, mix of classic art and contemporary urban art. They create their own universe, urbanmythology as they call it. Generally, they try to adapt their murals with the environnment with a specific message (I'll have to find it for their new mural on Boulevard Saint Laurent).
All started in 2007 in Valencia (Spain), Pichi and Avo created huge mural in their hometown. In order to flee the egocentrism of graffiti, they decided to create a unique work in four hands.

WHAT
During the Mural Festival, Station 16 (June 6th 2019 - June 30th 2019) organizes an exhibition Lefkos to admire their paintings. Great universe... The works are a little too expensive for me but I do like in a museum, I look :-).
