All In One Stone (#101)
Stones are from 'before man', are much older than any other life, and according to Caillois they reveal the idea that the universe is a unity, a confined but labyrinthine whole.
Caillois dreamed of a new type of knowledge, which he referred to as 'diagonal science': the search for connections between forms that resemble each other or correspond with each other. In his view, everything man does has already taken place in nature, according to analogue choices, ramifications and processes.
