My Plaaaant!!! | Digital Art

in #art4 years ago

Hi, folks! It's been a few days since we've seen each other, but here I am with a new original illustration. Some weeks ago I read that @ntopaz was saying goodbye and I felt like that little pink creature, very sad; in Ntopaz I shared and could appreciate the art of many excellent artists that make life in this ecosystem and the departure of their platform weighs here in Steemit, I only hope that some other project can be founded that gathers the art that is created here, and if it already exists, please leave me the link in the comments.

In this illustration I wanted to condense two feelings, anger and sadness, opposite to each other, but many times they can go hand in hand, like when an unconscious human steps on the plant to which you dedicated so much time and love.

Materials:

  • Medibang Paint
  • Photoshop
  • Wacom Intuos 4

-Step 1:

I began by sketching my idea, struggling with the proportions and perspective I wanted to achieve in the landscape.

-Step 2:

On a new layer below the sketch, I added color or rather, I filled in the silhouette of each of the characters separately, in order to block them out and be able to paint over them without getting out.

-Step 3:

With the watercolor brush, I progressively detailed the background, as it was a bit empty, I decided to add an old car door. I also drew the fairy's expression of fury, a combination of anger and suffering (I posed in front of the mirror to get an idea). By the way, here I had an accident that made me lose almost three hours of drawing, just when I was saving the drawing, my computer turned off and I wasted everything I had done, thank goodness I saved images of the process to show you, I had to start from one of them and I didn't lose all the drawing.

-Step 4:

This looked very dark, so by using the "overlay" fusion mode I added more saturation to the drawing, as well as the illumination of the fairy's eyes and hands. Then I moved to Photoshop, all to make use of a package of brushes that I got on the internet, between trial and error with them, I found a few really cool ones with which I improved the texture of the whole drawing, although at the end, I blurred everything with the "Gaussian blur" filter to focus on the characters and the trampled plant.

I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.
